The MotoGP Thais motorcycle grand Prix is an international motorbike racing series which began in 2020. The series is held at Burirom International Circuit in the village of Burirom, in Thailand's Northern province of Burirom.
In October of 2020, the Burirom circuit was closed by the local authorities due to a serious road accident. Despite the cancellation of the race, some racing fans from across the globe have traveled to Burirom to watch the races and to visit Burirom's many attractions, including its small but vibrant population of Burin people who live in the nearby villages.
The race itself is run in two different categories: The premier class (or GP) category consists of bikes of Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and other large manufacturers, while the intermediate class has bikes from smaller manufacturers like Aprilia, Kawasaki, BMW, Yamaha and Honda. The GP category is divided into two groups, with each group having a certain number of competitors in it, as well as a separate podium finish. The top twelve finishers in each category will qualify for the final stage of the championship, which is held in Arabia, Japan in late October of this year.
