The coupe-style roofline for the Sportback reduces headroom and payload by up to 5 percent. The same dimensions as the Sportback version are 38.1 inches and 37.9 inches, respectively. Likewise, while the SUV offers 28.5 cu ft (2nd row up)/57.0 cu ft (2nd row down) cargo space, the Sportback version offers 27.2 cu ft (2nd row up)/54.5 ft. Cubic (second row seats down).
The PPE battery system will borrow the best battery system elements from the MEB (used by ID VW. Series and Q4) and J1 (supports the Porsche Taycan family). It will have a compact design and consist of 12 modules consisting of prismatic cells. The MEB battery system also has 12 units, but with the option of bag cells. In common with the J1 battery system it will include 800 nominal volts, up to 475 kW of performance output, 270 kW of maximum charging power, and high-tech thermal management.
A unique technical aspect of the PPE battery system is the possibility of achieving a higher energy content of up to 100 kWh (gross). For reference, the MEB and J1 battery systems have a maximum limit of 82 kWh (gross) and 93 kWh (gross), respectively.
Audi expects the A6 e-tron to achieve a range of over 700 kilometers (435 miles)* with it, and therefore, we expect the Q6 e-tron to be able to travel at least 600 kilometers (373 miles)*. Low-end configurations can have a smaller battery pack that provides a range of approximately 450 km (280 miles)*. The BMW iX that arrives in showrooms later this year can achieve a range of 630 km (391 miles)* with the 111.5 kWh (gross) battery pack and 425 km (264 miles)* with the 76.6 kWh battery pack per hour (total).
Audi is building a high-powered charging network to support its assault on electric vehicles as luxury car owners demand a premium sales and ownership experience. The company is developing special charging stations to attract electric car customers and plans to launch a pilot project in late summer this year.
Audi HPC Stations will allow EV customers to pre-book a charging spot and relax comfortably in a nearby lounge while charging their electric vehicles. With up to 300 kW of charging power available, it would take more than a break to prepare the Audi electric car for the rest of the ride. For example, an e-tron GT can accept a load of up to 270 kW, which takes about 23 minutes to charge the car battery from 5 to 80%.
The Q6 e-tron will be the first Audi model to use Prelube II’s second-generation steel lubrication. While it is necessary to apply 1 gram of oil per square meter of sheet metal with Prelube I conventional lubricant, 0.7 grams of oil is required for the same with the new Prelube II, with nearly identical processing parameters. The second-generation oil class complements Audi’s sustainable production measures to make all production facilities carbon-neutral by 2025. It will significantly reduce the lubricant needed to protect the steel from corrosion and the machine’s sheet metal in the pressure workshops in Ingolstadt, where the car will be assembled.
The Audi Q6 e-tron has been confirmed to go into production in Ingolstadt, Germany in 2022. It is supposed to go on sale before its sister car, the Porsche Macan Electric, which will be launched in early markets in 2023.

In the cockpit, the Audi can equip the Q6 e-tron with features such as an augmented reality head-up display (AR HUD), a customizable high-resolution virtual instrument cluster, a high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system with 5G connectivity, USB-C ports and an Audi phone case.
Audi offers current models with optional features and feature packs. However, starting with PPE platform models, the company plans to move from a single option to optional packages. As a result, expect fewer individual options for customers to choose from in the Q6 e-tron.
During the strategic announcement of New Auto on July 13, 2021, the Volkswagen Group confirmed that the Audi Q6 e-tron will feature a new-generation infotainment system based on Google’s Android Auto. However, this infotainment system will have a third-party app store, not the Google Play Store.
