Atlanta Motor Speedway is a long dirt oval race track in Hampton, GA, just north of Atlanta. It's been home to the NASCAR Cup Series since its inception in 1960, regularly hosting NASCAR Cup Series races year-round.
The race track at Atlanta Motor Speedway is located on a large portion of land that originally belonged to the Atlanta Track Club (ATC). The track itself, which includes nine turns and five corners, is located between Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park and Kennesaw Stadium. The speedway is owned by Atlanta-Dania Racing, a division of The Mercedes Benz Cars Corporation (MBMC). The track was previously called Atlanta International Raceway.
