Mountain Motor Pro stock engines are built with a number of advanced techniques in mind and are known for producing engines that are both powerful and reliable. Pro Stock Mountain motors are designed by a team that has over 20 years of experience working in the racing engine market.
Pro Stock Mountain motors have impressive cubic inch displacement capacities of 825 to 940 and beyond. Their capabilities began with small, two-cylinder engines from the sixties, deriving more power from large, high-performance, big-block engines from the seventies. The pro series has continued this line of innovation, with new products and more powerful engines being produced as time goes by.
The pro series motors are very unique because they are all assembled in-house at Mountain Motor Pro. They can be tuned to run almost any type of vehicle and all of the components are interchangeable. All motors are tested to ensure that they will produce accurate and reliable horsepower and torque numbers that will meet the needs of any vehicle. When purchasing a motor, you will be provided with the same care and attention that Mountain Motor Pro is used to providing.
Most Pro Stock Mountain motors have been designed by a team of engineers who use many of the same techniques used to design big block engines. The most common methods of designing large displacement motors are V-chain welding, MIG welding and CNC cutting. When it comes to V-chain welding, the motor is first welded to a frame of aluminum using a specially designed welding machine. After the frame is welded to the motor, it is then bolted to a steel support frame.
Pro Stock motors also have a number of benefits other than the ability to run a variety of vehicles. These motors are designed to produce smooth power without the vibration that is commonly associated with a large displacement engine. They are also designed to produce maximum power without overheating, which is another problem that can occur with some motors. Mountain Motor Pro motor engineers pay special attention to the types of fuel that are used in the motor, including whether the fuel is nitromethane or ethanol, as these fuels will help to eliminate overheating problems that can occur with other fuels.
The only type of fuel that is not commonly used on Pro Stock motors is gasoline. They can be purchased with either a nitro or nitrous kit, however, it is important that the motor is purchased with an electric pump that is compatible with the engine. Most mountain motors are available with either an oil pressure gauge or a sensor on the bottom of the tank that will allow the pump to determine if the correct amount of oil is being pumped to ensure the proper performance of the engine.
